St Cuthbert, Great Salkeld - following and serving Jesus in our community.

Great Salkeld Penrith

Our church exists to honour God by being an open and inclusive church that welcomes all comers and encourages people to discover for themselves the significance of having Jesus Christ in their lives.

Our church is in the heart of the village in beautiful surroundings. We serve the local community, as part of the East of Eden Mission Community, with strong links to the other three parishes in our Benefice (Kirkoswald, Renwick with Croglin and Lazonby) as well as our Methodist friends in Great Salkeld and across the the East of Eden Mission Community.

Standing in a very tidy churchyard, which is still an open burial ground, our well maintained church is in use most Sundays by an average sized congregation of 10-14 people, attending either Holy Communion or Parish led services, at 9.15am, 10.00am & 11.00am, (please check notices for service times) followed by refreshments and fellowship.

There is a Bible Study Group (Food for Thought) which is held in the village during the year (Contact Jean & Jim Stafford 01768 870977) and other activities such as Café Church and a Mother's Day service often held in the village hall.
